Real Photo Card Logos

Introduction

Erika Wahl.
Erika Wahl. Photo sample card for black on buff card quality by Gebr. Garloff, Magdeburg. No. 29602. Likely dating from 1930's.

Here comes a first small selection of (mostly German) logos used by real photo card printers and publishers. Several others found in articles elsewhere on this site.
Of course there are many, many more found on international rp cards. Some may be identified with help of some internet sites with bigger compilations of logos/trademarks.
Some companies were only short in business back then. Other used a particular logo design for a limited period only. Then replaced by something new. Occasionally the identification marks are difficult to read correctly, especially when initials were arranged on top of each other. Or the reproduction quality of the into the image copied logo is poor. Then we have old real photo cards without any logo or initials, only a number imprinted. This all can become a bit difficult from time to time.

Real photo card logos etc are usually found on the picture side, at the lower left or right corner position. However, sometimes it could be imprinted on the (left corner) of the address side. For instance on "Photochemie" and "Felix Freund" card issues. Everthing is possible.

The logos are all illustrated in a uniform (reversed) look. In some cases this might be a little bit irritating at first.
More logos and trademarks are available.
