L. Langebartels & Kunstverlag Juno GmbH Postcards
Many Cards prior and after the War
The postcards published and printed by L. Langebartels between about 1906-12 are of general good quality. Although mostly common (but proven selling) designs; beautiful women, cute children, love and romance, other popular series etc. With and without imprints for various occasions.
Kunstverlag Juno GmbH, the Langebartels daughter company, continued with this policy. Although we should keep in mind that the number of series published as well as quality was influenced by war times. In 1918 Juno came into other hands, but little changed during the first two years, which were surely difficult times.
Above said is based on my relatively small stock of LL and Juno cards actually at hand. Some Juno samples do show (higher) four figure series numbers, most not postally used unfortunately. Company information on Juno GmbH from years after 1923 as well as postcard issues when the company was managed by the Heilborn family appears to be not easy to find.
It is the same with any L. Langebartels published card issues from about the mid-1920‘s and later. I am not sure if these show the previous popular Langebartels logo. Requires more research. If you can help out with more information, please let me know. Thank you.
Note: I show a card with the "mysterious Miss Sylvia". Said to had been a British dancer. For years I am trying to find out who she was. She appears on a number of cards by various publishers. No, it was not Sylvia Storey as some fellow collectors have assumed.
