K. Heinrich Krause Postcards
Some final observations
Heinrich Krause, the former book dealer, started off as (real photo) postcard publisher. With general designs popular with the public. The early cards must had been produced by a yet unknown printer. Krause soon added an own colouring dept. For his own cards but did welcome also contract work.
Any information on the company, or reviews, advertising of new series and so on, hard to find unfortunately. Well, research needs patience and also some luck from time to time.
Later (about post-1909) K.H.K.G. card issues begin to show a uniform address side layout showing some not so common details. They might invested in an own bromide printing plant by then already. Now I have no idea yet why Heinrich Krause suddenly disappeared. Anyway, his former business partner and last managing director of K.H.K.G. GmbH, Bernhard Bruno Beyer likely continued the Krause publishing activities. He had own bromide photo printing facilities as I know now. But the logo B. Beyer used is unknown yet. Neither Krause nor Beyer appear to have issued any promotional postcards(?).
Recently I spotted photo cards showing a Capital "B" accompanied with series/card number information. These could come from the Beyer business as the handful cards I have was all postally used post-1913. What makes me believe that I am on the right trace is, that the address side is of identical layout as the later Krause card issues. Funny also that his full name shows "three B's". But this is actually speculation only and needs further research first.
Take a look at some K.H.K.G. photo cards, in no particular order and not meant to represent the entire postcard design range once published. A random selection only.
