Silberbrom (SDK) Postcards

Short-lived Company in troublesome trimes

Major SDK postcard logo.
Major SDK postcard logo. Officially registered on 29 May 1915.

Silberbrom Dresdner Kunstanstalt GmbH was set up in March 1915 according a business notice in "Papier-Zeitung". WW1 was in full swing already. A few months after BNK had started offering the Dresden factory for sale. Had managing director Wilhelm E. Oskar Fischer expected the war to end soon? Well, I don‘t know.

Despite the general situation and unsecure future SDK has produced several thousands of real photo card designs. Many of quite good production quality for the times. Card come often a little bit smaller and most printed on 220g/square metre card instead the standard 250g/sm.
Besides the still popular beautiful women, children, romance issues, war-related card designs dominated the card output I believe. Although I do not have many SDK cards for research. Do not collect them and just kept some 20 samples discovered by chance with the handmade looking logo on. The identification of SDK is also still quite "fresh" and more background information on this business needed.

Furthermore I am very sure to have seen the name "Silberbrom" in a publisher line on a regular (not real photo) postcard. But where is this card now? Wondering if this had been by the same company.
